Here are the dates for the New Year session:
Tuesdays Meditation classes are at 7:30 pm
Jan 10 - Jan 31 Zazen
Feb 7- Feb 28 Compassion Meditation
March 6- March 27 Buddha Meditation
Sunday morning meditation and Dharma talks from 11:00 to 12:00 am.
Our 1st Sunday will be Jan 15 at 11 am
Beginning and advanced meditator’s guests and visitors all welcome.
We meet at #110, 138-18th Ave SE Please look for the sign on the sandwich board outside, ring the bell that is on the sandwich board and someone will come let you in
Please wear comfortable stretchy clothing so that you can sit comfortably and breathe fully, you may want to bring a sweater, hoodie, or shawl as the body tends to cool down while meditating. We have benches and cushions for you to use while you are with us, however if you have your own and would like to bring it you are welcome to do so. You may want to bring a small blanket to put under you while you sitting
All classes are taught on a donation Basis.

On nights when there are hockey games, it may be more challenging to find parking, so please allow extra time to find parking or (we recommend) take the C-Train as we are a 5-10 minute walk from the Victoria Park/Stampede station.

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer and lots of outdoor meditation time!
Just a quick note let you know the fall schedule
. Tues evening Meditation Classes will begin again Sept 13 at 7:30 pm
Sunday service. Sunday Dharma Talks will begin again Sept 18 at 11 am
If you are new to us or to Meditation here are some things you should know:
1) We are located at #110, 138-18th Ave SE. We do not have a buzzer so when you arrive you will see a sandwich board (sign) outside. On the sign is a door bell ring the door bell and someone will come let you in
2) On hockey game nights parking can be difficult so please allow extra time to park or alternatively take the c-train down as we are just a hop skip and a jump from the Victoria Park Station
3) We have meditation cushions and benches for you to use while with us …. However if you have your own and would like to bring it please do
4) You may want to bring a blanket or yoga mat with you for extra padding under your feet and ankles
5) Please wear comfortable loose/ stretchy clothing
6) You may want to bring a sweater or shawl with you as the body tends to cool during meditation
7) All classes and services are run by cash donation in what ever amount you feel comfortable with

It’s good news and not so good news. The not so good news is that we will not hold a Dharma talk on Mother’s Day, May 8th. The good news is this is because the annual Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run and Walk makes it virtually impossible to get to our location. Why is this good news? Thousands of Calgarians run, walk and stroll for a good cause. Pictures of Dads with small children cheering on Hero Mom (guess that should be Heroine Mom) as she crosses the finish line, or pictures of whole families participating together, are heart warming. Bravo to all who participate! Bravo to all Mothers of the three times - past, present and future!

Meditation classes are complete for Winter season. It is now time to apply what we have learned in our meditation practice and in our daily life. See everyone in the Fall! After a refreshing Christmas break (some of us went to warm places, some of us walked in the snow) we are looking forward to starting again. Tuesday Mediation classes begin Jan 11 @7:30 pm. Sunday Meditation & Dharma talks begin Jan 16 @ 11:00 am. We meet at #110, 138-18th Ave SE , Calgary, AB.
Tuesday Meditation Schedule
Jan 11 - Zazen (beginning and advance) /4 weeks
Feb 8 - Equanimity Meditation / 4 weeks
March 8 - Buddha Meditation/ 4 weeks
If you have not joined us before a couple of things to keep in mind:
1) Please wear lose comfortable clothing and you may want to bring a light sweater or shawl as the body may cool during meditation
2) We have meditation cushions and benches for you to use, however you may want to bring a small blanket or yoga mat for padding under your ankles
3) all classes are run by donation (as we are non-profit)

Please join us on Dec 12 for Bodhi Day and a pot luck (vegan) lunch. The day that the historical Buddha Shakyamuni attained awakening is not known. However, Buddhists commemorate that day with Bodhi Day.
All welcome! Starts at 11:00.
We will then take a break until January.

After a summer break in instruction - but not in practice - meditation classes will start again on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:30. The first two Tuesdays will be a special talk introducing Buddhism and Buddhist practices.
Every session brings new faces to sit with us, and all are welcome regardless of experience.

From Thursday May 20th to Tuesday May 25th, the Centre will be holding a silent meditation retreat at River Rock Studio
